If you have read my post about our super cool Star Trek robes, you already know that I am a complete geek. When I recently discovered these hooded Star Wars robes at trade show I was completely stoked. I loved the designed. Who wouldn't want to slip into one of these awesome robes? The real question is which one to pick? Jedi? Vader? Or... maybe even Yoda for a laugh? Not only are they great designs, but they are great quality robes as well. The cotton terry is heavy, absorbent, and thick.
Ahhh... Star Wars... It takes us back to 1977. In the 1977, I was in elementary school at P.S. 90 in Queens, NY. I remember waiting in a huge line just to get tickets for the movie. The line wrapped around the block. I was just a little kid and I had never seen anything like it. It was quite a phenomenon. I am pretty sure that my whole family went to the movie that day, but it was myself, my dad, and my middle sister who were hooked. We ended up going back to the movies twice more to see the movie in the theater.
Eventually a new thing called the VCR was invented. It was big stuff at the time. I am pretty sure that Star Wars was one of the first VHS tapes that we owned. (Video tapes were crazy expensive at the time.)
My sister was a total Star Wars nut. She collected it all. She had the Star Wars cards. (Thanks again to the kid in my second grade class who traded my that card to me that helped her complete her set.) She had the action figures and the models. And... most significantly, when other girls her age had posters of the Bee Gees over their beds, she had a giant poster of Chewbacca over hers.
I loved The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. I also enjoyed the three prequels.
I think that these robes are a great addition to our fun sleepwear collection and hope that you enjoy them. If you have a Star Wars fan in your family, these will make a great gift that they will get plenty of use out of and won't forget any time soon.
