If you grew up in the 1980s, you can't help but feel some nostalgia for The Smurfs. No Saturday morning was complete without the cheerful Smurf theme song. The Smurfs were led by their Papa Smurf their wise leader. The Smurf community included Brainy Smurf, Hefty, and Grouchy Smurf as well as the beautiful Smurfette. Of course, the Smurfs lived in fear of the evil villains Gargamel and Azrael.
I have to admit that I was a big Smurf fan as a kid. I used to watch all of the Saturday morning cartoons even thought I was wayyyy too old to be still be watching them. I just couldn't resist these delightful blue characters. I even had a bunch of the little plastic Smurf figurines. I put those figurines away for years and kind of forgot about them.
Years later my family (myself, husband, son, and daughter) got stuck in New York City on our way to another destination due to a giant rainstorm. The airports were all closed. Our luggage was stuck on the plane. All we had were our carry on bags. We took the subway into Manhattan and had a day in the rain to kill until we could get a flight out. We spent a nice day at the Museum of Natural History, but my husband got stuck lugging my daughter's bag around with him. At the very end of the day, we asked her what was in that bag. She opened it up. (She was about seven years old at the time.) It contained a teddy bear with a pink tutu on it and my old plastic Smurf figurine collection. I had no idea that she even had then. Well... I guess that my old Smurfs got to take a trip back to my old hometown of NYC. My husband should be sainted for carrying her little bag of tricks around that day. But, I digress....
If you you loved the Smurfs back in the 1980s or if you just discovered them with the recent feature film, you will love these fun lounge pants and boxers. They are comfortable and fun to wear. Plus, they are pretty Smurfy.
