Growing Our Business at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon
We moved to the canyon in July of 2002. We moved the business into our garage. The business started to grow and grow and grow. Soon it was taking over the house. We had inventory piled it every corner of our living room and dining room. We had slippers stored under the baby’s crib.
Our Internet service at the canyon was via satellite. At the time there was no other high speed option in the area. The satellite dish was particularly fun when it snowed. Snow would accumulate on the dish and block the signal. Every couple of hours I would put on my boots, hat and gloves to go climb up a ladder and knock the snow off the dish.
We soon realized that staying at the canyon with our growing business was not practical. My husband was offered another job in the western part of Arizona, so we packed up and moved again.
