My children always look forward to pajama day at school. Their school always holds this event during the last week of the school year. Kids love to show off fun pajamas to their friends on this special day.
Pajama Day takes a little bit of advanced planning. Jammies that are appropriate at home may not be appropriate outside of the home. For instance, we love 100% cotton pajamas at home, but I consider them to be too tight for my children to wear outside of the house. I also don't allow my children to wear shorty pajamas outside of my house. (I am the mom, therefore I get to make the rules!)
Coat-style pajamas are perfect for events like Pajama Day. Many feature fun novelty prints, but loose comfortable cuts and fits. Coat-style pajamas have pull-on bottoms and button up tops. Younger children may wish to wear pajamas featuring their favorite cartoon characters on Pajama Day. Disney Princess and Scooby Doo are favorites. Older children and tweens love wearing pajama pants with a separate top. Check out our fleece pants by BeePosh. Tweens will love the funky prints. (My ten-year-old and her friends love BeePosh's retro prints. The prints look a lot like the prints we used to see when I was a kid in the 1970s.)
If you really want to create a complete sleepwear ensemble for Pajama Day, you can add a bathrobe and slippers. Robes are a great addition as they will keep her warm on the way to school. We will offer just one note of caution regarding slippers. Just remember that our slippers are designed for indoor use only. If your child wears them outdoors on the way to school, the slippers may become worn out and damaged quickly. We recommend carrying them in her backpack and changing into them once she gets to school.
